Payroll Specialist
Run accurate, compliant payroll across Germany, Austria, and Switzerland. You will own the end-to-end payroll process, working with external providers and internal teams to ensure employees are paid correctly and on time every month.
What you'll do
- Process monthly payroll for employees across DACH countries
- Calculate and verify salaries, taxes, social contributions, and deductions
- Manage relationships with local payroll providers and tax authorities
- Handle payroll-related queries from employees and clients
- Ensure compliance with tax and social security regulations in each country
- Reconcile payroll accounts and prepare reports for finance
- Continuously improve payroll processes for efficiency and accuracy
What we're looking for
- 3+ years of payroll experience covering Germany, Austria, or Switzerland
- Deep understanding of at least one DACH country payroll system (taxes, social security, benefits)
- Fluent in German and English
- Experience with payroll software (DATEV, SAP, or similar)
- Strong numerical accuracy and attention to detail
- Ability to explain payroll concepts to non-specialists
Nice to have
- Multi-country payroll experience across all three DACH markets
- Experience in an EOR or multi-client payroll environment
- Knowledge of Swiss pension system (BVG) and German Sozialversicherung
