Expanding to DACH shouldn't slow you down

Most startups hit these walls when hiring their first European employee.

Entity Setup Nightmare

3-6 months and €50K-150K just to hire your first employee. Plus ongoing compliance overhead.

Compliance Complexity

800+ regulations across German labor law. Works councils, notice periods, mandatory benefits.

Hidden Cost Surprises

Employer costs in Germany add 30-45% on top of salary. Most startups discover this too late.

Talent Access Barrier

No local network, no employer brand, no way to compete with established German companies.

From decision to first hire in weeks

We handle the complexity so you can focus on building your product.

1

You Decide, We Execute

Tell us who you need and when. We tap our DACH talent network and present vetted candidates within days.

2

Compliant From Day One

We create German-compliant contracts, handle work permits, and set up payroll. You approve, we execute.

3

Focus on Building

Your new hire starts. We handle ongoing payroll, benefits, and HR. You manage their work and build your product.

Unlike global EORs, we recruit too. Unlike recruiting firms, we employ.

One partner for your entire DACH expansion.

The startup advantage

German tech talent costs 20-30% less than US or UK equivalents. Berlin ranks #3 in Europe for startups. The DACH region offers access to 450M EU consumers.

But here's the catch: most startups can't access this talent because entity setup takes 3-6 months and costs €50K-150K. By the time you're ready, the best candidates have moved on.

EOR removes that barrier. You can hire compliant employees in 2 weeks, test the market, and decide on entity setup later, with data instead of guesswork.

Most startups use EOR for 12-18 months to validate the market before committing to entity setup.

Startup-friendly pricing. No surprises.

One flat rate. Everything included. Scale up or down anytime.

Questions startups ask us

Answers to the questions we hear most from early-stage founders.

How fast can I hire my first employee in Germany?

With our combined recruiting and EOR service, 2-3 weeks from kickoff to start date. We source from our DACH network, you interview and select, we handle contracts and onboarding. Compare that to 3-6 months just to register a German entity.

What's the total cost including employer taxes?

For a EUR 70,000 salary, expect roughly EUR 85,000-90,000 total cost (salary + ~21% employer social contributions). Our €599/mo EOR fee covers payroll processing, compliance, benefits admin, and HR support. No hidden fees.

What happens after 18 months? (The EOR limit)

German authorities expect EOR arrangements to be temporary. After 18 months, you'll need to either set up your own entity or demonstrate a clear timeline for doing so. We help with the transition, including employee transfers. Many startups use this period to validate the market before committing to entity setup.

Can I hire contractors through Virmondo EOR?

We focus on compliant employment, not contractor management. Germany has strict misclassification rules with fines up to EUR 500,000. If someone works regular hours, uses your tools, and reports to your team, they're likely an employee under German law. We help you employ them properly.

How do terminations work in Germany?

German labor law has strong protections. During probation (typically 6 months), notice periods are 2 weeks. After probation, notice extends to 4 weeks, increasing with tenure. We help structure compliant performance management and guide you through any termination process.

What benefits do German employees expect?

Statutory minimums include 20 vacation days (most companies offer 25-30), continued pay during illness (6 weeks), parental leave, and social security. Beyond that, German tech talent often expects flexible hours, home office options, and professional development budget.

Do you help with recruiting or just employment?

Both. Unlike Deel or Remote, we offer recruiting at €1,000 per hire. We source from DACH talent networks, screen for skills and culture fit, and present vetted candidates. You interview and decide. Then we handle employment.

What if my employee doesn't work out?

We help you structure clear expectations from day one. During probation, you can exit with 2 weeks notice. After probation, we guide you through performance improvement processes and compliant termination if needed. We've handled dozens of these situations.

How is Virmondo EOR different from Deel or Remote?

Three ways: (1) DACH-only focus means deeper expertise in German labor law, not surface-level coverage of 150 countries. (2) We include recruiting, they don't. (3) Startup-friendly support where you're not ticket #5,000 in a queue.

Are there any hidden fees?

No. €1,000 one-time per hire (recruiting). €599/month per employee (EOR). That's it. We don't charge for onboarding, offboarding, contract amendments, or HR support. Employer taxes and benefits are passed through at cost.
